Rockhard Software specializes
in ELECTRONIC publishing for education and business.
Electronic publishing is the process of putting organizing, indexing and
putting information into a form usable by computers. It is much the same
as publishing a traditional book. However, in a book the information is
generally very similar as to topic, otherwise the book would be very large
as in an encyclopedia set. In electronic form, a large amount of very dissimilar
but related information can be linked together. This can all be stored, as
well as accessed, on a computer hard drive, CD-ROM or DVD disk.
The real
challenge in electronic publishing is the same as with a traditional book.
The information needs to be correlated, and indexed. Much of the
information that we have published, has originally come out of a computer.
It is either in paper form, with the original computer files not
available, or is in electronic form but not correlated with other
information.
I have
consulted with a variety of clients and developed publications for
a variety of markets (such as training and equipment manuals, and conference
proceedings), as well as put together information of interest to the
EBook
market.

Rockhard Software was established in 1982,
as the software publishing section of Trans Mountain Consulting Co. This
Colorado Corporation was established by H.
Court Young in 1971. Mr. Young has been involved in computers since
college and was involved with PCs since the early 1970's. Rockhard
Software was created to organize and publish information and has been
involved in numerous document management and scanning projects through out
its existence.

that can be published on paper can be put into electronic format. These

PDF file format. PDFs are widely used on the internet. With the free
Adobe Reader, they are an easy and straightforward way to use and
distribute information, and are the main format of the EBook revolution.
