 The Eros Adventure, Journey to an Asteroid is a CD-ROM featuring the story of the NEAR spacecraft. This four
year story is told using the original JPL photographs taken by the spacecraft on its journey to
EROS 433, a near Earth asteroid.

it's trip to Eros, the NEAR spacecraft passed within 1212 kilometers of the
asteroid 253 Mathilde. It reached Eros 433 on February 14, 2000, and
was placed in orbit. More than 100,000 images were sent back to Earth. Using
the Adobe PDF format, the entire mission is documented, and the spacecraft
instrumentation is explained. The CD has live links to several hundred of
the main astronomy and space exploration sites on the internet. These links
alone are a tremendous resource for anyone interested in science, space, astronomy
